carol

Carol joined the children at Sabuli Children’s Center in November 2017. Her young mother died a few months after giving birth. Her grandfather immediately brought her to the children’s center desperate to find her food and care. After Carol’s mother was laid to rest, Carol’s distraught father visited and told us how Carol’s mother had been ill before they had married. She had almost died back then but recovered. However, after giving birth her illness reappeared and she died very suddenly. Adequate healthcare is not available for Congo’s poor. Carol’s father was unable to care for a newborn. In Congo newborns desperately need their mothers. Infant formula is out of reach for families in poverty due to its considerable expense.
